We don’t have a lot of plans today. We’re going to ride the ferry a little bit more check out one of the other docks and maybe continue a bit of our self guided food tour.
Next, we stopped at Watson‘s Bay. There’s a Park with huge trees by the waters side. This bay is on a small isthmus . We walk across to the other side and get on a bus to go get some food at our first restaurant.
The grumpy baker is a restaurant we passed by on our first day here during our bus tour. It was a short bus ride from the beach so we stopped to try out some of their bread.
I had a sourdough grilled cheese sandwich. It was OK a very mild sourdough and not a large amount of cheese, but it did taste good. I also had a coffee.
We got back on the bus and returned to Watson Bay our day one a bus ride stopped at the point at the other end of this Cliffside. It was the Vista point that had the suicide prevention sign, and telescope. We could walk between the two but are not planning on it. There are three separate Vista points next to each other . The ocean view is beautiful.
We got back on the ferry and took it to Circle quey where we boarded a train for our next food adventure Rainiers delicatessen. On the way Regina wanted to stop at an Apple Store that she saw. She likes taking pictures of all the Apple stores of cities and she goes to. I was also a really cool brick government building.
We got back on the train and continue to Rainiers. We arrived in the area and walked a block to find a closed sign. It was 3:05 PM. They closed at 3 o’clock. We were on the bus for an hour, but the good news is Regina got her Apple Store picture.
Back on the bus I checked and made sure that the next one doesn’t close until 11 PM. We are headed to Metro one Kabab. About a 30 minute bus ride. We arrived and ordered the Halal snack pack. It is a mix of beef and chicken shaved off of a spit. Serve on top of cheese and fries with three types of sauces on top. Nice stretchy cheese, good flavored sauces and a hearty portion for a good price. We had told the what we were doing, which seems to be giving us bigger portions after we ate. He brought out some homemade baklava and thanked us for coming in. That kind of so surprised us and it tasted so good. We didn’t remember to get a picture.!
Our next stop is El Jannah legendary charcoal chicken.
We had a half chicken meal that is served with garlic sauce, french fries with chicken salt and a tabouli which is minced up parsley with onions and tomatoes. The chicken was flavorful not quite as juicy as I would’ve thought but the skin was crispy. The chicken salt is an Australian thing and has an interesting flavor almost like a little bit of a bouillon mixed in with regular salt. The tabouli added a freshness and the garlic sauce for dipping the chicken in was fantastic.
After two more buses and a short walk, we arrive at Al Assel for our fourth restaurant sampling of the day. We started with the trilogy as an appetizer. It is three different hummus with a crisp pita bread all three were fantastic.
Main course we got the lemon garlic chicken . Generous large chunks of white meat chicken smothered in a white yogurt sauce with strong, garlic and lemon notes. I could drink a jar just the sauce. We ate it in fresh pita bread. I actually looked online and found a copycat recipe from this restaurant. I will definitely be making it at home.
We got back to the hotel after our last bus rides and realized how full we were after all today. Definitely have to go to the gym when I get home!

Glad to see you’re enjoying your trip. Seems like a very interesting and biodiverse place.
