We woke up after another great night of sleep and had another fantastic breakfast at Kenny’s.
After breakfast Kenny took us to the trail head, stopping by the post office for me to return my old poles.
Thank you to all who leave comments on the blog. Although I don’t respond to them, I do enjoy reading them, and they help me feel connected. If you’d like to see something different, more, or less, leave it in the comment and I’ll try to accommodate.
On the trail again at 10 AM packs feel great new poles in hand ready to walk.
The lake in this picture is typically dry. It’s not Big Bear Lake as I originally thought. It is Baldwin lake. It is normally dry, but close to full now.
As we get later in the season, water will become harder and harder to find this is our spot for this morning. That’s a nice one liters per minute trickle coming out from under these rocks with a good collection point.
Trail cross is this large rock scree field. Rough on the feet!

We arrived at our chosen lunch spot at this campsite right along a small stream.
Up and back to Snow. So far not bad. Only patches are covering the trail but it does slow us down.

We got to the original area we had planned to camp. There were about six other tents set up we were feeling good and we continued on for another 1.4 miles.
Tonight we had a beautiful sunset, visible from inside my tent with my vestibule fly tied open.
