August 9
I'm angry at myself! I pushed too hard because I’m looking at my end date and trying to keep it mid September. This morning I can hardly put weight on my left heel with plantar fasciitis and rather than hiking today I need to take an unplanned zero to let it rest. The extra 5 miles to get here last night was not worth it. On the positive side, I will say, Donner ski Ranch has a very comfortable bed and good food, and as I have been taught so often on this trip, I need to trust in God‘s plan and timing and not mine. My dilemma is buses run from Chester to lone Pine only three days a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have 180 miles to go and was hoping to be there by next Friday, If I’m not my schedule will get thrown off by about a week Moving forward. God knows, I will trust in Him. Not to mention, the food here is good.
Two of my friends from my pre-PCT hiking group saw through my blog I was at Donner ranch and sent a message wanting to meet up. Eric and Cindy came for a visit and treated me to dinner. It was great visiting and sharing some of my experiences.
I had a local massage therapist come by and work on my feet and calves for about an hour. It’s feeling a little better, and I am very hopeful I will be able to like in the morning. I bam sure that with everybody’s prayers, I will.
Please be in prayer for healing, God answers prayer 🙏
