Today I am a traveling to Mammoth Lakes for a five day group day hiking trip. We have 18 people who will be split between three separate housing units each day we will embark on a different trail, returning to our housing for the night the beginning of the drive up Highway 395 offered beautiful views with fall colors beginning to show.
We met the first part of the group, 11 people in total for a short 2 mile hike at Gull Lake. it is a small fishing lake nestled in the hills close to June lake. If today’s scenery is any indication, it is going to be a beautiful week.
Midway around the lake we came across the rope swing I couldn’t help but grab on and get a little rush of adrenaline!
I am regularly amazed at how, even in such a small area, such a variety of views are available.
We Continued around the far end of the lake, through a meadow, and returned to our car drive the last 30 minutes to our lodging for the trip. That evening, each member of the trip recited a haiku that they made up on the hike.
