Cambodia mission day 5 & 6 Wednesday/Thursday

 Wednesday, February 4

Other than the construction work, we have been doing there is not much else to show. I will be focusing this post on our next two days. Today again started with breakfast, followed by our devotion.

This morning we brought the youngest member of our team to the village. Caleb is just 18, which is the minimum age allowed by AIM.

Our work today started with the roof. Once we get it up, we will then start the siding.

In addition to the full tear down and rebuild we are doing, there are also two houses that we will be doing repairs on.

Thursday, February 5, day six of our trip

Continuing our build today by adding siding to the house. Ladders here in Cambodia are nowhere near what I am used to. They are very thin material and have a significant flex when you climb them; in addition, the ground is slow and surrounded by debris.

The woman who lives in this home helped out as we worked by cleaning up around the house and picking up the Minh screws. We dropped working on the ladders.

In addition to the siding, part of the team built a ramp from the street level up to the floor.  We added some of the windows.

After a long day on the worksite, we all met at the Lord’s gym for a barbecue. We were able to see some of the work done by the other half of our team.

After the barbecue, we cleaned up at the hotel and went out to the night market and walked along the riverfront and through some of the active nightlife areas
