We eat breakfast break down camp and start walking at 630. First thing when we start we have to cross Cow Creek again.
Something about trail markers actually on a tree versus a post seem to make me smile
The last line on this sign points to Olancha pass you may remember Olancha peak as one of the mountains that I have previously posted about a number of times that we saw far off in the distance in other far off trail sections. It’s pretty incredible to think that I am about to pass underneath it
Today’s trail involves patchy snow snow bridges and expected full snow later on. This this is a six minute video of the trail.
As expected, we reached full snow. There’s one bare patch, where a river is coming out of the mountain side, causing a hole.
As we traverse across the mid valley slope, we can look down below at the incredible rivers and valleys. It’s absolutely stunning. You will never convince me we do not have a creator.
Directly in front of us is Olancha peak. We’re going to the left of it on the backside and across the saddle today.
Coming across the hill. We are on a solid snowfield overlooking incredible valleys below again. It does not get old.
Much to our surprise, some dry trail has appeared and we dropped down into a meadow area that has dry spots for our tents. This is completely unexpected. Not to mention the views are spectacular.
Normally, I am in my tent and asleep at sunset, which is a shame because they are so beautiful. Tonight I was able to get a couple pictures.
Today’s miles 10.4. Total trail miles 729.6
