Iceland day 7

We started today at another amazing beach with black sand, a steep rock face comprised of hundreds of volcanic post piles, and a shallow wave carved cave.  We are hard to see with  dark clothing, but are standing mid wall on the post formations. off in the distance are rock formations rising out of the sea with nothing else around.

The opposite direction has a view of a cliff face with a tunnel rock in the distance.

Leaving the beach to our next destination, we passed by another beautiful countryside church The architecture appears to be common for churches in the area

We arrived and another ocean side vista area. we walked along some coastal cliffs with more amazing views. We also saw another puffin.

We got back in the cars to head to another destination, but took a short detour to stop at one of the churches and get some closer pictures. Scenic view from the church hillside are amazing.

Our next adventure will be another paid excursion. We are traveling to another glacier where we will be doing a hike through some ice caves. As the glacier melts water Flows through the crevices and carves out large tunnels that we are able to walk through. As with some of the previous pictures, it looks like we are on rock at times, but it is all completely ice as the glacier moves down the mountain side. It picks up small pieces of gravel, which are suspended in the ice given the appearance of rock.

Our group was fortunate on this outing. Our guide informed us this last cave section was just opened up ad completed for walking thorough this morning.

Not only is the ice cave cool, but the glacier melt river carving its way through the ice is incredible was well.

The glacier and ice caves were amazing. God is so cool in his creation and imagination. I find myself in awe often when in nature.
