Today is another longer day on the road we will be traveling about 115 miles. We are heading back to Reykjavik for our final night in Iceland 😭. along the way we will stop for a final hike to another natural hot spring on the Hveragerdi hiking trail. After our hike and hot springs soak we will continue on to our hotel and exploring a bit more of the city. The first part of our hike was pretty cool with active geothermal vents and a small stream running alongside the trail.
The trail continued along and old cattle Ranch Road through the foothills with beautiful views and some small streams
We can send on and soon arrived at our destination. The Hot Springs, which has area is perfect for lounging in the water.
After some relaxation, we hit the trail again, going back through the Greenfields past some goats back to the car
We stopped by one of the thermal vents that had created a sulfur mud pool. We scooped some up that Alyssa plans to use for facemasks back at the hotel.
We arrived at our hotel in Rejovich as I was getting my luggage. I realized I did not have my passport! I searched through all my stuff looked through the center console of the car and could not find it the last place I knew I had it was checking out of our hotel in Vick. I called the hotel and sure enough they had it at the front desk. I guess I get to explore a little bit more of Iceland‘s countryside when I make a 230 mile round-trip to go pick it up. A few hours later with passport in hand, I returned to meet up with the group and explore a little bit of the city we walked by many of the colorful shops and the harbor side, all glass, opera house
I mentioned the sulfur mud. Alyssa had gotten. Dave and I Decided to be team players and a partook in the face masks. Somehow, we convinced Dave to go down to the front desk of the hotel and ask some random question wearing his face mask. Impressively the Hotel staff did not bat an eye and acted as if there was nothing odd about him
Once again, a great end to another fantastic day, and an end o a fanatic trip. We fly home in the morning.
