Day, 29 On to a Ridgecrest zero

Last nights sleep in the cabin was awesome. We had a nice fire to go to sleep. I did get very cold overnight, so it was nice to have a little bit of shelter. We hit the trail at 7 AM. I have a very short 8.5 miles and then have a Nero and zero.

Today’s trail started off with a lot of frost on the side of the trail. Hoping it warms up soon.

We continue to get peekaboos of the Sierra’s and their beautiful snowcapped peaks

The trail has been mostly downhill looking back. We can see some of the areas of snow we went through. It was about half a mile back base and we go steady downhill.

Short, snack break, don’t want to head into town famished

Success we made it to the trail head in three hours. This completes our flip so far we completed 150 miles in our first stretch 200 miles on this second stretch. The third stretch will be 300 miles and return us back to Highway 14 at which time we will get another ride back to this location to continue our track North into the Sierras.

We got a hitch into Ridgecrest where we met up with Jeff and Ellen who had gotten a ride separately. It turns out the person we got a ride from follows Jeff and Ellen‘s travel blog and recognized them. Who knew we were hiking with famous bloggers.

Today’s miles 8.3 Total trail miles 352.6.  PCT mile mark 652.1 due to Flip of 299.5
