This morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise, ate breakfast, packed up, and hit the trail at 6:45.
Like the end of yesterday the 1st .7 miles of today was through patchy trail snow that we had to go through. It did not get to freezing last night so it was still rather slushy this morning.
The trail opens up to this expensive Valley in front of us
Three extremes on the trail turning right I’ve got just rocky mountains turning to the left I’ve got a fairly Baron slope covered in snow, while straightahead I’ve got a long valley with snow covered mountain tops
The trail is dropping down into this river valley where we will have a lunch today alongside the river.
We had to cross the river three times once to get to lunch, once just after lunch, and again about a mile and a half down.
The small mountain stream is the perfect place to refill my water and take a short snack break. It was a great area, I don’t know why I look so goofy!
Today has been one of those interesting hike days as we’ve gone through multiple different ecosystems
We came to our end point for today after crossing this bridge over the river.
We pitched our tents on a bluff overlooking the river, made dinner and settled in for the night.
