August 2
I slept beautifully last night. My air mattress held no leak. The kids quieted down around 830 maybe nine-ish I woke up to a peaceful calm lake with an awesome reflection of the mountains, beginning to be lit, and sunlight mirrored in the lake. I was walking at 6 AM , headed to Snoqualmie Pass. This will be my last 9 miles hike in Washington before returning to the Sierras to complete everything below me.

As I pass by these large boulders along the trail, you can look up to the cliff face and see where many years ago they broke off.
Part of today’s trail goes through huge ferns. Super green and attractive.
I crossed a couple more small streams along the way.
Looking down at the Highway that will eventually lead Josh to Snoqualmie to pick me up. It is deceiving because it makes you feel like you’re super close, but I’m still 4 miles away.
The trail leads down this shrubbery laden path, and opens up to the very, very small ski resort town of Snoqualmie Pass.
After going across the ski slope under the chair lifts, we enter back into the forest for one last walk in Washington before I flip back down to check off the Sierra.
Josh picked me up, he took a plunge in Puget sound, and we went to lunch.
