I said goodbye to my camp and walk out at 6 AM. Heading for the town of side valley.
Come to the first of a few bridges that will cross the creek on the way down the trail
This morning‘s hike along the river is absolutely gorgeous green everywhere. I look the sound of the water below me and the site of the white water as the river goes over rocks and mini rapids.
I reached the 2nd foot bridge over the river for this section. Thankful to not have to wade across the water
You can see the power of the water is a courses through channels made in the rocks in its path.
I reached the third bridge. This one not as new as the other two let’s go get some across the rive.
I have observed another new flower. This one is on a tall stock with purple petals. It is known as the Chamaenerion angustifolium. Try to say that name three times fast.
I also have been passing this bush with the purple buds. It is the Deerbrush Ceanothus
My beautiful riverwalk now transitions to a 6 Mile Dirt Rd. walk.
I have now joined Grider road, which is a county maintained paved roadway that follows alongside the Klamath river. I met up with Side Quest and Grammarly.
When I left my campsite this morning I had hoped to do another 10 X 10, by 10:00 I had hit 12 miles!
We have now joined State Highway 96 Continuing our Rd. walk to see odd Valley along the side of the road. Are these beautiful purple broad, leafed, sweet pea plants,l
We crossed over the Klamath River Via the highway bridge which does not have much of a shoulder when vehicles are passing.
We reached the town of Seiad Valley. I hiked 14 miles in 4.5 hours! My first stop was the local cafe. I had loaded hash browns and a great burger
