Day, 27 from the sequoias to the desert

Heading out of camp at 7:25. Good spot no wind woke up dry and temperatures were cool but comfortable. Our tent site was next to this old trailer who knows how he got up here in the mountains.

On this trail video you can see a lot of sequoia trees and still a little bit of snow on Trail

Early on the trail there are good rock formations this morning

It’s always nice seeing the PCT logo marking the trail.

The trail parallels this river and we came up on what we believe. Is an old gold panning sluice right in the middle.

We had a number of river crossing today it is always fun to navigate.

This video gives you a short bit of the Trail

The trail comes out and crosses a dirt road. It looks like it may be going up to a cattle ranch that I saw up off to the right and then there’s also a Trail register here.

At the trail register is this nice little sitting area for a quick break, there are birds all around us in the trees chirping calling, and making their presence known. One set of legs makes a kings throne.

We find ourself back with some neat rock formations we can also look at the snowy peaks around us that we have been hiking under

No longer hiking in the trees back to scrub with this trail video

Back to another type of gate, right after we found a small stream, and took advantage of the availability of water

Stunning views of the Sierras

We are once again blessed by an amazing Trail angel providing this water cache. Good place to break for lunch.

Now we are fully in desert landscape again as seen in this afternoon trail video (YouTube, limited my number of uploads I will add later)

I think this Joshua tree stump looks a little bit like an anteater. I’ve been in the desert too long?

We had a long 2 mile uphill push. Now we are kind of doing short ups and downs again. As we get high up the views are amazing. Also continuing to see some really neat rock formations

A new flower we have not seen a Whitedaisy Tidy Tips

We arrived in camp, set up amongst the yucca plants (hiker tip don’t back into them when you’re setting up your tent it’s not a good chair), ate dinner, and as always went straight to bed.

Today’s miles 18. Total trail miles 325.0.  PCT mile mark 624.3 due to Flip of 299.5
