It was nice to sleep in for about an hour this morning. There is a shuttle bus at 9 AM that goes to the town of Stehekin where I will pick up my final food supply and spend of the day. My plantar fasciitis on the left foot is returning and it was pretty painful to walk on it yesterday. I’m hoping one day off will help improve or my last few days of Hiking.
Setting up my tent and sleeping in the shelter last night was a good idea. Everything was dry this morning when I packed up.
I got the 9 AM shuttle to the town of Stehekin. The road was along the river, which was absolutely gorgeous. The shuttle stops at the Stehekin bakery a very popular place. I had a sticky bun, a cinnamon roll, A ham and cheese croissant, all Washed down with coffee.
Stehekin is a very small town that sits right on Lake Chelan. I was able to shower and do laundry while waiting for my box of food at the post office, which actually did arrive today!
While I was hanging out, Tex and Kitty showed up, I hadn’t seen them in a few days. I had forgotten to get a picture of them before, so I was able to grab one now.
There is a fairy that has star link Internet, Wi-Fi access, but it is not always docked here and Stehekin. I was able to upload some blogs this morning and some this afternoon, but I did not finish all four of the last days it will have to wait until I get more Internet access which will be after I finish the hike, I’m bummed I was hoping to get everything caught up until today. 😔
The weather forecast calls for rain the next four days heavy on Monday and Tuesday. I pray it will hold off and not be as bad as it sounds. I took the evening shuttle back to Highbridge so I can continue my hike first thing in the morning. Hopefully, I can beat some of the weather. I put down my ground, cover pad and sleeping bag inside the shelter. I did not set up my tent tonight hoping to get a little quicker start in the morning.
