Today I picked up my food resupply boxes from Grumpy Bears, which is the other restaurant catering to PCT hikers. There we had breakfast, a shower, and I had time to work on some of my blog entries. I had two boxes full of food and a third with my bear can. It was also packed with more food.
We visited Triple Crown Outfitters and received our “PCT Class of 2023” bandanna, another rite of passage.
A good part of my afternoon was sorting the food, prepping some of the meals, and deciding how to pack it in my bear can.
Each time a new hiker arrives. Everybody on the porch stops what they are doing, and applauds. It’s actually kind of an emotional experience.
We returned to Grumpy Bears for dinner and I was able to update more of the blog.
