Todays blog is not about hiking and the things we see.
For 46 days, the mantra has been go, go, go. Today Ryan and I woke up and both said I don’t feel it today.
Being on trail releases your mind of all the outside junk tumbling around in your head.
Both of us feel God doing something, but what? We planned to hit the trail at 7:30, but both still had the nagging feeling that we were not supposed to. We walked to the hardware store (they have hiker gear) for a last minute Ryan purchase. There is a stone map board out front and we both walked to it and sat down trying to convince each other we should hike. But God….
is.
As we sat trying to justify continuing, Uncle came up. We talked about our feelings and discovered he also has Christ. He affirmed taking a coupe of days is wise. I sent out a text to my prayer team and had a wise response to wait. A contractor named Bobby stopped and asked if we are hiking, we said yes, but were struggling with weather to continue today, he responded we should stay and appreciate Gods beauty, he also is a believer. He said when we’re up on the mountain tops look left look right and then recognize the world is on my God’s footstool, how big He
Then another couple hikers, Loafs and Lifeline came up, similar conversation.
I texted the property manager hoping she had already filled our spots, she hadn’t.
Ryan went to the restroom. He returned and said he felt the words “stay and see what I have for you”.
We discussed Jonah, do we want to proceed with our own plan and end up in the belly of the whale? I texted the property manager back, we’re staying until Friday.
I don’t yet know what God is doing in me, but I have been emotional and tearing up all morning for no particular reason all morning.
We went to breakfast, another customer paid for our meal. Again I teared up.
To be continued…….

You will know what is best. Be still and listen.
ReplyDelete"Wherever you are, be there." Ryan can explain.
