Day, 16
Last nights campsite was probably one of the better ones we have had on the trail so far beautiful sunrise looking out over the town below hitting the trail at 8:30
We started with a short up hill to a Mesa with an incredible vista at the end of the video off in the distance is bouquet reservoir also in this picture
New kind of a pipe gate device to keep motor vehicles off the trail
Came through a portion of trail, which is green on both sides, kind of a clover and walking through essentially a tunnel made by the Oaks. Super pretty.
Our first water filter, location of the day
Another view of bouquet reservoir
Couple of mile signs although with the flip, they don’t have as much significance for us. You have to subtract 300 miles
Another day of down one mountain range, right back up another. The trail we came down cuts mid slope of the mountain on the other side of this valley
Same bouquet reservoir but this picture is on the opposite shore 180° from the first one this morning
Lunch at the 8 mile mark next to this beautiful Creek. Had a good meal and a good rest.
We came across many nice looking streams crossing the trail
The second half of today’s hike was up and down through these valleys, winding all the way around down into a valley and then climbing back up.
Just as we got off trail, there was a bin of Trail magic left by a Trailblazer angel
Found a place to pitch our tents behind an unmanned seasonal forest service station
Today’s miles 15.6 total trail miles 178.9 . Total PCT miles 478.4 due to Flip of 299.5

Glad you are out of the.bad weather :-) - JF
ReplyDeleteHang in there, buddy - looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteAmazing views. You're style of taking a rest in the middle of the day instead of pounding out the miles... great job!!! Thanks for posting so much detail, Dave!
